some of you will already be familiar with 'the mothership' (see here: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1218091388 ) but a few of you (alright, three of you!) asked me to post pics of my recent cavalier purchase when i'd got some pics. so here they are...
she's a cavalier mk3 24v 2.5i V6 c25xe cdx with a few mods. i'd looked at a few cavs, gsi's mainly, but when i saw this one i just knew this was the cav i was going to buy. i've already got a v6 in the form of my omega elite 24v 3.0i x30xe, but knowing the power of the v6 and imagining it in a car with at least a quarter less bodyweight i got quite excited and all thoughts of 'not getting another v6 cos of the workload' quicky went out the window.
so this is what i bought: shes a 1994 (L) cavalier mk3 24v 2.5i V6 c25xe cdx, diamond black, one owner from new (!), full vxsh, has only covered 3000 miles a year for the last few years (just driving around local to the owners house at weekends), lowered 40mm all round on koni adjustable shocks and eibach springs, irmscher rear boot spoiler, 5 stud wheels, 17" 5 spoke bk racing alloys, full heated leather interior (black), traction control, abs, bosch immobilser, full electrics (windows all round, mirrors, sunroof, aerial), new fuel tank, new windscreen, new alternator, new radiator (all new gm parts), new low profile tyres all round, custom powerflow stainless exhaust which sounds fantastic, bodywork is in fantastic condition, interior is in excellent condition, low mileage for year, air conditioning, heated mirrors, power assisted steering, power locks, airbags, alarmed etc etc etc...
as if that wasn't enough, on top of all that i got an original vauxhall cavalier sales brochure, the original CDX alloys (all five) in near mint condition (with brand new tyres on every wheel!) and best part of a years tax and mot thrown in. as you can imagine, i'm pretty bloody chuffed with my buy.
here's some pics:

the powerflow exhaust. really makes the v6 sound immense:

future plans include (in no particular order):
full turbo bodykit (retaining the irmscher spoiler)
turbo back lights
new ice install
mk2 astra gte digidash
illuminated centre console
high pressure glass shot blast and complete respray
angel eyes/morettes (not sure which yet)
oil pressure and volt meters
haven't got round to thinking about engine mods yet, but i imagine new air setup and cams might be on the agenda
of course i might win the lottery and then i'll think about fitting a 5,6 litre corvette engine in there but i'll put that thought on hold for now!!
anyway, this car isn't going anywhere and i consider it to be a long term project with a really good starting point. i'm sure i'll start a WIP thread on a relevant forum somewhere when work begins

Nice motor.I had a Black 2.5 cdx cavalier several years ago,but it was an auto.It went like stink and we covered over 180,000 miles in it before I did a px for an omega as needed the extra cabin space.
Only real problem it suffered was when you had heated seats on the ignition light glowed very faint.Had an new alternator fitted and all wiring checked but problem was never solved, interesting to now if yours does the same ?it never caused any problems but was told it was a manufacturing fault due to the loads..sounded far fetched but anyway a great car and a totally different experience to drive from the omega..bit like a pocket rocket..have fun with it..by the way what price did you pay for it..my old M reg went for £1250 back in 1999,but did have a lot of miles.

A really nice looking motor you have Dan. :y

different ride altogether. the omega is luxury, all the toys, a smooth ride, like driving your lounge around. the cav is just mental power, and you feel every bump as its lowered and on low profile tyres. also the cockpit is a fair bit smaller which you do notice after being used to spreading yourself out in the omega. what can i say, its fun! its a manual too and my elite is automatic so another different driving experience. its good on fuel though, and with only a 60 litre tank it certainly doesnt cost as much to fill up as the omega!!

well i went out the other night and put the heated seats on and you're right, in the dark there was definitely a feint glow from the ignition light...!! my cav had a new alternator fitted a short while before i bought her too so definitely must be a design 'feature' !!

hiya dan, have to say that looks smashing for a cav ;)
my new omegas in that diamond black :P
are you jealous lol?

The alternator setup on the V6 Cav was a real compromise....its not realy big enough for th fully loaded specs and (as you know) requires a special cooling setup!

Was that the same as they did on the Calibra? Some trunking and a fan?
Edit: Just looked at the picture and yep it's the same setup.
