Why does it say not in service on the back?
Otherwise all that equipment looks scary!

without that sticker on the back, you would do time!
-
surely youd do time anyway for impersoninating (sp?) a police car.
definitely would in NI

You'd have to do a little more than just drive around in a liveried motor before you get done for impersonating an old bill.

As i said in the other thread, I had a chance to buy this car about a year ago, but it was in met police livery and then the guy who bought it put it into derbyshire livery, I have photo's

So driving it arround at night with just the sticker on is legal then? ::)

I was allways of the understanding that when all cop cars got sold they had to strip them as the bits were not allowed to be passed on to the public.

All the bits and pieces can be got over the tinterweb anyway, there is a police equipment store online. They sell everything from uniform through to the full vascar and ANPR equipment.

that cant be legal!? lol i got stopped in my plain sliver omega because i had a security uniform on with a high vis jacket and the copper said he could do me for impersonating a police officer :o

If he had said that to me, I would have laughed at him.

I would have laughed too.
I had a silver ex thames valley omega with the camera and screen on the dash, in full view, yellow jackets on etc... and they stopped us. nothing happened. as plain yellow jackets arent ilegal, and nor is having a monitor. depends who stops you, and of course, what your doing with the car. ifyour waiting in layby then chasing people, yes your gonna get your ass kicked!
But having a replica police car "historic police car" for shows is not ilegal.
cant have blue reflectors on if using it as daily transport, but if you have a full battenburg one and are on way to a show and have the sign on the car not in service, you are covered.
