Title: My lightly modded 2.0!
Post by: tombstone on 10 August 2009, 10:02:54
Well, after 3 weeks of ownership, nearly got the 2.0 I bought for £300 to where I want it!
Sorted the engine management light out, door strip that was damaged, some second hand headlights etc etc etc!
So, some 17" wheels, 245/40's on the front, 245/45's on the rear, lowered 40mm, uprated rear shocks, new front std shocks, debadged grill, good clean and some red LED dash illumination!!  Things to do, boot lip spoiler and re-gas the aircon!

Looks very clean for a car that only cost £300.  You've done an excellent job on it.  It looks very very nice.

Was it far off?  How did you adjust it, because I know the rear doesn't have eccentric bushings for camber adjustment and mine as it is stock is running around 2° camber and its chewing up the tires like crazy. .

A drop of 1" or more will give something close to 3° which will be even worse.

It's not that far out, and as I have a healthy supply of good 17" used tyres, it doesn't worry me!!

lol i hate working on it, nothing wants to come apart/undone (its that well put together) ;) lmao so it usually takes longer (to change the clutch you have to lower the engine through the subframe on one side and take both driveshafts out) or to change the spark plugs you have to take off this little cover ontop of the engine (so far sounds easy)... and wrestle with the hard plastic boost pipe running over the top of the engine and then pop a blood vestle trying to drag the little plastic cover out from between the oil filler cap and the said hard plastic boost pipe!

i shall even post a volvo under bonnet shot lol....

lol volvo engines are mounted the wrong way round...anyway LSG if we're playing the remapping game then the facelift T5 remaps to 30bhp more than the T6 lol

Yeah but this would mean no 5 series BM and that would annoy me and a 530d goes to over 270 BHP re-mapped or a 535d remaps to 344 BHP and 685nm   ;D Anyway back on topic lovely Omega  :y :y

lol sod off captain Beemer :P
gna go compare the cayenne and xc90 on parkers in a minute!
aye....you should defo go for a V70R, from what people on the t5d5 forum(performance volvo forum) say then aslong as the angle gears uprated for the later version (think you could get it done under warranty) and you install a boost guage so you'd know if the turbo was overboosting (before block cracking) then they're fine
