Just thaught i'd put up a few pictures of my 1998 mv6 that ive done a bit of work on today!
First set of pictures are at 11am this morning and the rest are at about 2.30 this afternoon!!
Made the badgeless front grille myself from the irmcher serround from my old elite and cut up a corsa bumper grille to fit then bonded it in. Colour coded the bumpers and side skirts and fitted the facelift coloured mouldings and fitted my 19" alloys purchased from fleabay!!
Love the look of it now.....better than i thaught it was going to turn out!
Let me know what you think please people....love the look of it but would like to know if it is to everyone's taste or just me being a proud dad!! lol :y :y

I'm more than pleased with the look of her now!!
She's looking about 10 years newer now with the facelift mouldings (as has been said!)
Dont know whan springs she has an her, they are the one's off of my old elite (they were there when i got her!), just the stainless exhaust to fit and she's done for a while, i can get on with stripping the rest of the bits off the old elite before she's buried then!! :y
-
wow those wheels are mahoosive :) Lovely looking Omega you have there :y

Peachy. My black MV6 (same year) has facelift door mouldings but how did you do the fronts & have you done the backs as well? I also have the Elite/CDX grille surround so we share some mods.
Has your Elite got the pracy screen & bose rear parcel shelf? I'm STILL looking!!! Guy. :y
-
Mate I love it..
the door mouldings are exactly what I want to do with mine... so you say facelift ones are fitted??? I thought it was just a painting the current mouldings... Do you know where I could source a set of those? :P
Very Nice car though,, considering cars tend to go as fast as they look, your thing should be bloody quick :)

All that was done for the front and rear bumpers was to sand the whole things including the mouldings, add a bit of adhesion promoter to the plastic bits that arent primed then paint the whole lot! My old elite does have the privacy screen in it but as per usual it's broken, dont know if its the bose shelf or not.... doesnt say anything on the speaker grills!

Got all of the facelift mouldings from omega spares on e-bay. He did me a deal where i baught all 4 door mouldings and he threw in the front wing mouldings free of charge...cost me just over £50 for the lot delivered! New ones would have cost me about £160 plus vat for the set!!

going to go have a look for that store now... sounds like a really good deal..
just what I was looking for too...
-
Like the wheels dude! I thought about them for mine as it goes.
P/F do look so much better with colour coded strips (Mine too!)
If you ever get round to it change the wing mirrors to F/L too - they are so much better!
What is the insert for the grill - home made or adapted from somthing else?
Lovely car, lovely car! : :) :y :) :y

Thanks for that mate, i'm well happy with her now!!
Grille insert is one i made from a 54 plate corsa lower bumper grille and then attacked it with an air saw!!
Still looks a bit rough round the edges close up but it only took me half hour to make so i cant grumble!

Your 19s look amazing but offset is a bit high on those, I am guessing between 40-50mm... you should get a pair of H&R Spacers either 15-20mm and install them on all 4 corners...
That will push the wheels further out to the fenders and give a meaner looking stance.
As long as you dont go too big on the spacers you will avoid any rubbing issues too.

You would never believe it was the same car.
Colour coding the plastics makes such a difference!
-
Did you have to modify the new side mouldings in any way?

All i did with the mouldings was to remove the fixing clips from the back then bond them to the door! Might be cheating.......but it works for me!! lol ;)

That's a mean looking machine mate :y
-
Liking the wheels :y
-
Car looks amazing now mate... hard to believe the difference.
Do the old mouldings come off quite easy, presume they're stuck on with trim tape?
-
Jealus!!looks great!
