This post is really for Phil (Mr Skruntie) as I did promise him some pictures, only taken me over a month :D
This is mine to keep, it's a 2003 '52' 2.6 manual Elite saloon. Registered sometime in Feb '03
Few things I want to do to it, the only thing I really need to do is fit leather to it. The Omega velour is actually more comfortable than leather by a small margin, but I think velour looks a bit naff. Much prefer LT. The only problem is late 2002 and 2003 Omega's had a different style of leather, a more matt effect. So I can only fit late style leather to it, which is proving very hard to find.
The exhaust system is particularly cheap, so I'll replace that at some point.
One other thing is to get the telematics unit working properly, and then it'll be done.
I haven't had time to wash it, so please forgive it's poor appearance.

I like it a lot, in fact with a cream leather interior I think that'd be probably one of the nicest Omega's out there :y Love the badges too ;D ;D
-
Nice one Josh. :y
I think my new Omega needs a new screen in it now that I have seen that colour one. :y
-
very very nice fantastic in black :y :y

;D you noticed?
I have about 16 'Omega 3.2 V6' badges that I use on ex police one's as some don't have them...so I couldn't resist ::)
Ideally I'd like a lighter interior...but I know I won't bother to replace all the interior parts that'd need replacing, so I'll stick with the easy option of just finding black leather.

The colour screen makes the whole unit much easier to use. The GID does a good job, but I wouldn't want to go back to a GID now. The CID gives map display and is just much better looking and easier to use. I may make a post detailing all the extra functions of the CID above that of the GID, as to me...it's made a massive difference having it.

Little things :y I used to do the same with everything, needs a twin pipe now :y
I think cream on black looks good (that sounded bad ;D). If you look at the E60 leather which is cream and black too, I'll find a pic and PM it to you so you can see what I mean. Will probably be extra difficult to find mine you :-/

Thanks :y
I'd never thought of that actually, I suppose it'd then match with the clear side repeaters and rear lights.

Nice looking car Josh :y - looks like I've got some competition ;). Just in the process of painting the Brake calipers gloss black on mine - picked out the Lucas / Opel stamps in red enamel very subtle 8-) (changed front discs - just rears to do). Set of moulded mud flaps to fit soon too.
Not the cheapest - but the stainless exhaust I had fitted sounds great (single polished 3" pipe).
Look forward to seeing it soonish Josh - when's is the next Oxford meet ? Anyone fancy combining it with the Abingdon 4x4 festival and do our bit for charidy to help Simon72 out.. :)
Cheers
Ian.

Wow if thats what it looks like when its not washed it must be dazzling after a Sunday clean.
-
Looks great Josh, looking forward to seeing it at Newent.
Have to agree that the cloth Elite seats are just that little bit more comfortable than the Leather ones. Got the later leather in the 3.2 Elite and Cloth in the DTi Elite. Can't decide if I prefer the look of the later or earlier leather though (the estate has earlier leather non Elite seats and they are far easier to clean due to being smooth / non-textured)

:D indeed Ian
The idea of painitng the calipser black with some red bits sounds very interesting. I'd be very interested to see the finished result.
You're right, we must have another Oxford meet soon. This Friday it's the Newent meet, so can't do this weekend. When is the Abingdon 4x4 Festival? Be good to make it there actually :y

Thank you Andy :y
You better keep your 3.2 Elite locked, or you'll soon find it has velour in it, and I've stolen your leather :D
I must say, I'd never really noticed the different style of leather. TB pointed it out to me, when he bought that 3.2 Elite from me, it had the later style LT in it. And when comparing the two, I think the later style wins. I think the earlier LT looks a bit too shiny, whereas the later looks more matt.

Painted the calipers and the exposed parts of the disc (the bit between the disk and the wheel) on mine, looks much better than rust! Done the rears on the DTi as well, will do the fronts when I replace them :y
