my girlfriends mum and dad had this car from 6 months old, its done 72,000 miles, she gave it to me to tinker with as she was going to scrap it as the gearbox wasnt working properly and they were told last year it wouldnt pass another mot again.
so far i have replaced
atf fluid
the gearbox selector switch- gearbox now works
the standard amp- all 8 speakers work now
new brakes all round and rear backing plates
have a powerflow cat back exhaust to go on it((as new condition), as exhaust is rotten from after the cats (got it at a price i couldnt refuse) just hope it dont make it too loud as it does away with the middle box.
it is an elite but didnt come with the spoiler so have put one of those on it
oil and coolant change
and i am waiting on a black blank grill for the front which i have ordered.
the only other thing it might need to change are the rear shockers, but probably do away with the self leveling as the self leveling shockers may be too dear.
will be putti ng it on the road in january as thats when my car insurance is due, and if i do amulticar i can insure my 306 td for £250 fully comp and this for £250 tpft. £500 odds all in for 2 cars fot the year :)
will update with more pics once more doe to the car.
hope you will all agree that this car is far from the scrap yard , and that i couldnt let it get crushed !

The car looks very well indeed Doug 8-) - I do like the colour. :y
Well done for keeping the car on the road. :y
-
Love the colour, like it in pre-facelift form :y
-
nice omega !, nice cavy too in the background!
-
the cavy is my mates 4x4 turbo, very fast car !
-
Nice car & colour :y
-
Great!!pleased the amp all works ok mate!
-
What year is it mate? Why has it got the short plenum and single pipe exhaust normally seen on 2.5 V6s not on 3 Lit V6s?
-
i wondered why it had only the single pipe also, i can only assume it has been changed at some point and the wrong one was put on it. however ill be changing it from the cat back anyhow. whats a short plenum ? its a 1996 n reg
-
Beautiful car lad,love the colour!!
Best of luck with it.....
:y :y :y

it was only the mv6's and some late elites that had the longer plenums, unless modified, looks completely normal to me, looks like they put a 2.5 back box on tho at some point, its a good few quid cheaper so probably the motive. :)

I may be wrong, but only very early 3.0's had the short Plenum. 1996 onwards had the 'proper' one.
Also, forget the Omega, that Cavalier is so reminiscent of one of my past conquests. Shame it isn't a real Tubby, and a further shame it isn't on the road. I think I need a tissue. :'(

the cavy is a real turbo and it is on the road,

The cav looks in really good nick
