Title: my entery level 2002 Omega
Post by: OmegaAnglesey on 02 March 2011, 19:58:35
Here is my vx Omega 2002 2.2 GLS Auto Saloon, 106,000. Originally bought it off eBay a year ago for a bargain price of £200, Was up for sale as spares as it would start & go off straight away & all it needed was a £25 airflow mass meter  :y

Best way is to upload them to a image hosting site like photobucket and copy the [img] Link then paste it in to the Thread.

Thanks  8-) The only small problem i find is the 2.2 is a bit underpowered so I've been thinking of getting a V6 Omega Any suggestions  :question

you could certainly sell yours and get a similar age V6. 2.5 or 2.6 maybe.

I have a 2.5 V6 GLS. The GLS weighs some 85kg than say the Elite model due to the toys it doesnt have so its pretty brisk.

I need to find out how much mine is worth 1st before buying another 1, but Ive seen this for sale locally its ex police its silver & automatic 51 Reg, " VAUXHALL OMEGA 3.2 Saloon Silver many new parts 101k in exwo Sep MOT recent service £1,150ovno. "

Is this too pricey for an ex police & would a ex police car have more power ?

I haven't seen it yet so don't no if its any good   :-/.

Think they have the same power but a Limited slip diff, stiffer lower suspension but lower standard spec (dont quote me though) ;)

There loads of 2001/2002 2.2's on ebay for  £995 up to the £1695 mark so that will give you a rough idea. maybe nearer the lower figure for a quicker sale.

if you sold your gls for say £1000 and bought my 53 plate 2.6mv6 for £2000 it would stand you at £1200 :y

now that it is tidy for the year & seems an absolute bargain.

Dependent on your requirement I would say the 3.0 elite or 2.5 cdx :y.  But you must consider what sort of mileage you are doing.  From those that know, motorway seems ok if driving @70mph i.e 35 -39mpg.
Urban considerably less. :)

of course 2.2 like the 2.0 is easy maintenance( only + point) :) and of course keep you out of elements ;D

Good luck in whatever choice you make. :y

In the first pic what is the thing to the right of the number plate ? I have one on my Omega as well and only noticed it today, sorry for the ignorance but I've only had my Omega about 5 weeks.

Super nice looking GLS (as is mine) buddy, looks like a Z147 Star Silver paint (as is mine). Did yours come with those alloys already as mine only had those rather nasty 7 spokers but i always liked this style which are so expensive to source.
