I have bought this Manual MV6 "Darth Sidious" today which being honest is a lovely looking car. I have had two exactly the same before :D ;D
Body work looks fine, needs a buffing to bring the colour back to new :y
Engine has done only 72,000 odd miles with alot of reciepts to prove.
10 months MOT...
The Oil Cooler is really the only thing that needs replacing :)
Take a look see what you think!!

Daz, that looks far to nice to break....... :y :y
I think you should clean and polish it, fix it including the cam belt etc and then swap it for a facelift 2.2....... :y :y :y

Manual and leather........just as an MV6 should be.... :y :y

Looks too good to break Daz - do it up :y

To break it???? I "would kill" for omega looking good like this. And the mileage? It's as good as new

keep it mr I am not going to buy any more motors ( that did not last long ;D) its not as if your short on space
-
With the miles mate id keep it. Rare at that age :y
-
Looks totally lovely and in the fastest colour as well. I think however, you have been spoilt in Omega land and should swap it for, say a rather exceptionally tidy, Omega Elite estate. Just saying like ;)
-
...........you can't seriously be considering breaking that?
Keep it - lovely looking motor! :y :y
-
looks in better condition than the the mv6 i had off you daz & that was good.
i would keep it, does look rather nice indeed. :y
-
keep it to good to break,we should be keeping these rare cars alive and with such low mileage, hardly run in :y :y :y
-

break it, worth a lot more!
-
Keep it, easy fix, people need to stop breaking these, there'll be none left :(
-
Swap it for my Escort and I will keep it as a project ;D ;D ;D ;D It looks great, It would be a real shame to break it to be honest.
-
Oh dear, looks like I am going against most of you!! :D

It makes financial sense to break it, as you can command top dollar for the parts as they are in good nick :)
-
I might just sell it and let someone else benefit Tunnie. I have more cars at the minute than I can shake a stick at, it has come at the wrong time for me I'm afraid... Hmm need to make up my mind :-?

Think i've made up mine, I am very tempted, its low miles good nick. Be a good replacement for my aging 2.2, but if I add all the sums up I just does not work :'(
Mine just needs new springs and exhaust (which I already have bought for less than 200 quid) - and for someone who uses their car once a week at best, my old heap is worth using.
-
go on daz you know your drawn to the dark side ;D :o :y and mv6 's dont come much darker ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :y 3.2 maybe :D :D

Don't break it, too many broken :'( And that's in what looks like mint condition, cracking miles too :y

Had a good look at this car yesterday and I have to say it is virtually immaculate.
The body work all looks original without any signs of repair work in the past, the leather is immaculate and ties in with the indicated mileage, the wheels are immaculate and don't look like they've been refurbished.
So should Loo Knee have this as a project car? Personally I think it's one of the best examples of a 97 / 98 car i've seen in recent years and I really think you'd struggle to buy another example like this unless it's from the forum.
Too many cars? Yeh, know what you mean but it can happily sit in the corner of the barn as you do the work you listed off to me over the winter, besides, a your four wheel drive is a much better tool for the winter.
-
Though - if it is broken - I am after a set of doors for my 1998 Sallon MV6 - and if the colour code is Z200, then that would just be perfect.... ::)
So please let me know if she goes that direction.

I was very, very tempted to buy it, given its mileage and condition. I just could not justify buying a new car when I hardly use my current one :(

I agree with you Andy. It is the best conditioned Mini Facelift MV6 I have seen for a very long time.
My plan for this car is to get all the jobs I want to do before The Lakes Meet next year. This gives me plenty of time to get it Just So. If I am to put it on the road now doing the jobs as I go, it wont happen.
So what am I thinking of doing??
Engine out, re new head gaskets, oil cooler, exhaust manifolds, port the heads etc.... De grease and maybe paint the engine.. pink?? ;D
New vauxhall wishbones, stimetz springs, bilstein shocks, toyo tyres.
A few other things as I go along :-X
when I start I will start a thread so the progress can be seen to anyone thats interested :y
So there it is another Classic saved ;)
