Title: lots of problems,
Post by: sax-p on 10 April 2011, 13:52:54
well my da bought a 04 omega over in england about a year ago.  he still has it on english plates as it is now off the road ready to be modified slowwwwwwwwwly.

well here is some pics of how he bought it minus the grille and mud flaps.

Then yesterday well decided to strip the interior.  it went well apart from the steering didnt want to come off which meant the dash board wouldnt fit out.

damn steering wheel, i wanted to cut it off, but noooo, i wasnt allowed.

office is going to get full.

Also my da would like to change all the interior lights to blue, the climate control is as shown has to be changed,

if i was to spray some of the insides of the buttons tint spray blue. would it change them all to blue or what would we have to do to change em blue.

Thanks trev

What country did your dad import it from (notice its RHD)? What model is it? Is it ex-police? What is the paln for it?  :y

Sorry about that post, this website isn't iPhone friendly.  He got it in England, it's a 04 vauxhall omega 2.2 gls manual petrol and no there is only one previous owner and he was a business man.
Title: Re: lots of problems, also started stripping 04 omega.
Post by: sax-p on 10 April 2011, 23:17:17
The reason we are breaking it is he wants the dash and parts to be sprayed black and the roof bits to be sprayed White, as he is going to get some seats upholtersed in black and White leather.  The bodykit is going to be an irmscher front(if possible) or mv6 front, sports back bumper with twin exhaust, boot spoiler and rear window lip spoiler.

Yep, easiest option is a bog standard tilt one. A "nibbler" to cut out the roof and an oscillating disc saw for the re-bar across the roof

what a mission.
All i can think to say is WHY? lol

more specifically, why THIS car. seems like making so much work for yourselves.

and if i'm being honest, cant say that i think black and white leather is gonna look right in a red car....

And it just screams octavia VRS....the black and white leather that is.

But there we go, we do like to keep ourselves busy lol.
You've got your project and i've got mine lol

first actual 04 omega I've seen though....rare as hens teeth

i'm just sat trying to figure why they're doing a 2.2 four pot, surely if they're going to all this trouble it has to be a V6. or is that just me!!!

In short, about 690 Euro between the two engine sizes. (2.2 and 3.2)

860 Euro for the 2.2.

1556 Euro for the 3.2.

well, the reason we are modifying this 04 omeha GLS is because we hope to turn it in an elite version, ie. full aftermarket bod, car resprayed white. full elite spec, sunroof, heated mv6 leather seats, hopefully satnav, rear blind, headlight washers, etc.

we hope to have the car on the road fully modified by next summer.  in the meantime i have bought back my 2.2dti cdx estate, of my brother. it have ticked over 158419 on the clock, in the family it has been since 90000. i had it until 103000, it has done just over 50000 2years. pics up later.

cheers mike (father of trev)(owner of both cars)

You'd be talking coilovers......and unless you have over £1000 to spend....i would say that ride height adjustment is not an option.

Title: Massive over due update. ;)
Post by: sax-p on 29 July 2011, 19:01:08
Right it is about time I Trevor, update with pics, dad doesn't have a clue how to.

Will do this update in what happened first.
First
Got my 02 saxo for €390. My first car.

Then something runs in the family.

Second.
The tire on the estate went on the inside, my dad broke and the car went flying right. So spare on and away we go.

Third.
Nothing to do with the 04, sort of anyway  ;) ;) ;)

This is how it came.

Now.

Does anyone know the car, because,
(http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g428/rallysaxo/ec8e11f3.jpg)

The number plate is,
(http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g428/rallysaxo/c3f9a2f9.jpg)

The fella I bought it in Antrim, Was Nathan Coyle.

Dad toke it for a drive,
(http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g428/rallysaxo/th_b475d271.jpg) (http://s1101.photobucket.com/albums/g428/rallysaxo/?action=view&current=b475d271.mp4)

We got 8 wheels with the car.

So my dad set about just there about ten minutes ago,
(http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g428/rallysaxo/c4563362.jpg)

Thanks Trevor

P.S Nathan, if by any chance you are reading this, please just answer my calls, if I get the exhaust, I will make it quits. Thanks, but if anyone knows him please tell him. :'(

I know that Andy is a busy guy with requests for help with parts from many users on OOF. It might be better for you to go to him rather than expect him to contact you  :y.

Good luck with the projet BTW - I think you are very brave  ::)

Will talk to ye soon, just wondering can I change the title of the thread as it is a bit dated.

I dont talk that much LOL, thanks for all the positive comments, work will slow down a bit as I got another saxo, dad is repairing and spraying some of the bodypanels to get it ready for resale.

With the profits from my saxo, I will be contribiting to poweder coating and sandblaster, then some rust to get treated, and the elite wheels to be ready for the car ;)

This has nothing to do with the omega or not ::)

from Sax-p
"powder coating and sandblaster, then some rust to get treated"

just my opinion, dont use sandblasting , it opens small tiny holes on the surface that I dont prefer for anything.. although hardwork,

sanding is the best method.. and if you prefer, epoxy base paint is the strongest for rust protection although very poisonous :-\

Well,

It's about time I update this thread.

Not alot has happened, but as I'm the busiest I have been for the first January in over 4 years, bad but good for the car, bad: not spending enough time on it, good: more money to spend on it. ;)

Any way enough talking,

We decided to get a sunroof fitted to the car, so first we got one ;)

Lined it up and cut,

Next up was to decide on what size wheels before we stripped the hubs etc. So Trevor decided to make up a template:) lol

So saw these cheap on donedeal, and couldn't resist

So after that, we wanted to strip down the hubs etc to refrub them by sand blasting and spraying them black.

Now for ME( Trevor to take over )  :)

I am looking into fitting the 3.0 L engine into this after the vrt ;) , would the 2.2 manual box do or would I need to get a different one, I also have a 2.5 diesel box, which one would be better?

As ye can see I got my way with 19's success!

How hard would it be to fit the 3.0 L ?

Must try and get a few "optional" parts for the omega ;)

That's all for now

Trevor and Mike
