Hi! Does anybody know on this wonderful forum anyone selling a good quality left hand drive Omega Elite full spec?, as I want to drive and leave it in Spain. Thanks. Drew :y

You might be better off getting a RHD Omega. Here is why (apologies if you know all or some of this stuff!)
- If you take a UK car to Spain and use it it should be UK address insured, taxed and MOT'd(at a UK testing station) yearly.
- If you live in Spain for longer than six months each year then theoretically your car needs changing to Spanish plates ( quite a pricy process as you need a new Spanish V5 doc, Spanish MOT(ITV) and to fill in a mountain of forms and hand over a mountain of money to the government.
-Despite the above a UK car will still be cheaper than a Spanish LHD car as residuals are so high here and in other EU countries.
- Driving a RHD car here is quite safe.
- much better choice of cars though they may have been subjected to Britains regime of road salt/damp!
- I have never seen a LHD Elite!

AFAIK European Opel didn't badge their top spec car as Elite, confusingly for us in the UK, their 'Elite' was badged MV6. :-/
-
Thats right, the first MV6s were Opel "elite" spec cars, with the UK MV6s being plod versions.
Goodness knows why - thats marketing for you I guess

Thanks to everybody that replied! :y :y :y

however; when i have been to finland 3 times, all spaced about 6 months appart i have seen a toyota on uk plates in a car park. its on a 52 plate. and hasnt been taxed in aaaages lol
-
If the UK car in Finland wasn't taxed maybe it is SORN or not even insured/MOT'd.
It is one area of lack of EU wide rules that gets my goat.

There are SOOO many UK reg'd cars over here on the Costa Blanca with no tax discs - a lot of them being used for illegal taxis (but they're being clamped down on at last).
Many of them are being driven by Moroccans in false names as buying a UK car only involves changing the name of the owner and sending the v5 to the UK (which most moroccans don't do)! Whereas to change a car ownership of a Spanish registered car involves personal identification and the department of transport...how it should be!)
