Title: 2.6
Post by: miggy on 28 July 2007, 00:07:08
Anybody got the 2.6 V6 24v elite facelift, if so, is there a big difference between that and the 3.2, I know there would be a power difference, but does the 2.6 have much poke, whats the power pack like and what is the bhp.

Trouble is the 'signed in' list doesn't actually mean you are active. It doesn't time out after a period of inactivity, which means if I forget to sign out, it still thinks I am there. Hey, its a minor fault, nothing of real consequence. Perhaps the 'signed in' list should include a "Stella Count", so we can gauge the accuracy of supplied answers  :y :y :y And after 5 cans of Export you aint getting much sense from me  :y :y

for 2.6 to 3.2 read the same difference from 2.5 to 3.0 ( about 40 bhp) which on Omega scales is about 22% power difference

The 2.6 is quite good, comapred to the 3.0 the difference is not that huge - a lot bigger difference between the 2.6 and the 2.0.

I can only say drive the 2.6 and see if you like it - no more than that

2.5/2.6 is an excellent compromise.  If you are used to 3.0/3.2, that loss of 500/600cc does make it gutless though...

I went from 02 2.2 to 03 2.6 and the difference is noticable especially when overtaking/accelerating at lower speeds. 2.2 cruised ok at higher speeds but I wanted a bit more oomph at lower speeds. Now keeping eye out for late 3.2 to take for test drive ;)
