Title: Urgently Needed
Post by: star_whites on 26 October 2009, 08:07:21
Ok, Im urgently after a replacment gearbox breather pipe for my 3.0 auto.

The pipe is the one that goes up the back of the engine and secures at the top to prevent from self draining fluid. When replacing my drivers side manifold I found that it has been severed half way down and only just goes above the box.

So if anyone has please pm with cost and if anyone knows how this fits/where it fits please feel free to let me know  :y

Well I have one you can have. It has a slight amount of damage(1/4 inch) at the gearbox end but you can cut that off and length wise they aren't critical.

How they fix on is there is a metal breather pipe ontop of the rear end of the gearbox that comes up and then turns 90 degs to point to the front of the car. You will probably be best carefully lowering the rear of the gearbox and will need to warm the pipe up somehow and then slide it on. If you drop a piece of "fishwire" down the back of the engine from the plenum you will then be able to haul it up.

Postage? haven't a clue and will have to buy a special Spanish Post Office bag/envelope from the town 20 miles away and they are closed on Monday for yet another Bank Holiday. I wouldn't have thought it would be more than a fiver stirling. If you want a photo of it pm me your Email address. I can also send you a photo of the top of a gearbox if you wish even if you get fixed up elsewhere.
