This is a tall order, but I'm looking for a spare X25DT engine for our tractor.
This is the later variant of the 6-pot BMW lump, and needs to be in superb order. Would be willing to take a good manual gearbox too, if still attached.
Cash waiting for the right motor, and willing to travel/collect.

You haven't broke your engine have you? :-?
It sounded good at Newent!

Cheers Simon,
No mate, she's still running fine, with Mrs Sethsmate 'driving it like she stole it' !!!!!!!
There's a slight noise which sounds like the timing chains/guides/tensioners will need replacing at some point. I'm probably being over-fussy, but we rely on it to tow the caravan as you know. I've priced-up the parts, and genuine BMW seem to be the best price and with good availability.
However, I'll be passing your neck of the woods later on - Markseth and I are seeing a complete car.
If all goes to plan, we'll be bringing it back to the Valleys, basically buying it between us, so that both our tractors can be kept, well, pretty indefinitely.
Will keep you posted on how things go later today, but for the meantime, I can state that we're planning a 'Valleys contingent' at Newent in 2010.

Well chaps, here's a happy conclusion to my quest.
Markseth emailed details to me yesterday morning of a '99 2.5TD GLS Estate that was up for grabs in Yorkshire.
One owner from new, 91k miles, receipts and FSH. Additionally, it has the 'winter pack', towbar, luggage net (still in it's wrapper) and is in immaculate condition throughout.
So early this morning, we two intrepid souls left the Valleys and ventured north-east. By 2pm this afternoon, the deal was done, and my newly-acquired tractor arrived in pastures new, here in South Wales, a few hours later. It performed absolutely faultlessly on the 225-mile homeward trek, and was as silent as a monastery!
It turns out that the seller, (and I must emphasise, a real gentleman to do business with), is none other than fellow OOFer 'sparkler'. Good on yer John, here's one very happy tractor owner !!!!!!!!
PS: My '98 tractor estate has already been sold too.
After an engine transplant from his present CD saloon, Markseth's looking forward to taking delivery.
Looks like I'm gonna be a busy boy ..........

Sounds like a good result, best of luck. ::)

That was a lucky find, thought those were only fitted to Opels in Europe?

Not sure about the 'European-only' fitment - but yes, I reckon that I've been very lucky indeed!

200 BHP ?????? - Crikey we're looking at some serious force there !!!!!!!
I'll probably leave it alone for the present as it's performing beautifully as it is.
Cheers for that zirk.

No time for piccies just yet - but'll try to sort something 'as soon as' mate.
Welland: will do Si; probably in the New Year bud, once final details are agreed for the 2010 event.
