What do you mean by a boot solenoid? They were only fitted to the facelift cars IIRC to open the boot.
Do you mean a central locking solenoid for the boot?

More than likely mate, not the best with cars you see! Yes, i think it is the central locking solenoid for the boot I require, thank you

Is your boot staying locked? There's two key positions for the boot lock, horizontal & vertical. I can't remember which way round it is, but one way has the boot locking/unlocking with the rest of the car, the other way it doesn't and stays locked irrespective of whether the doors are locked or not.

Yes it was staying locked, the solenoid is now out of the car, that is the part I need

But what position was the boot lock in? :-/
Key slot horizontal means that the lock locks & unlocks with the rest of the central locking.
Key slot vertical means that it stays permanantly locked. :y

Yes, I know what you mean about the locking position, it was in the horizontal position.
It didn't matter which position the boot lock was in, the only way to unlock the boot was to turn the key clockwise and the boot unlocked, that was the only way to get it open.
