Title: Drivers Side Mirror - wanted
Post by: Koomorph on 12 February 2010, 20:39:47
My poor dad had a run in with a pizza delivery moped today.... was overtkaing him and hit his drivers side mirror....

Mirror glass is broken, and the only thing my dad managed to recover was the painted wing mirror cover for the back.

So what do I need for this... the actual mirror.... and something to hold it onto the frame? Dad said there was some broken black plastic on the road - which I guess is from inside the mirror housing...

How much also....?

Thanks guys....  :(

Raf
EDIT: SORRY - JUST REASLIED I POSTED THIS IN THE CAR SECTION - COULD IT BE MOVED PLEASE.... SORRY.....  :-[ :-/

Normally the glass just clips in place, but be careful not to apply too much pressure,or you will be picking the rest of the mirror from your hands,as for the black plastic, couldent really say going from the picture.

I'm guessing I'd need the plastic base plate that the mirror is stuck onto as well.... but not sure what else to make it fit back on the frame....

So the pizza boy was overtaking the Omega, I take it?
Is it a pre or post facelift car?

Yeh, he was....   >:(

It's a facelift - 02 reg - they are heated.

Having looked at the other mirror, I'll need the black plastic insert that sits in the painted cover - as per the picture below (but obviously for the driver's side)

Am I right in thinking that I'll need a mirror and surround from 2000+ ??

Cheers

Yes!
The older cars' mirrors are different.

there's a chap on fleabay breaking a facelift in silver - he's quoted me £35 inc p+p for the nearside so will probably quote similar for the drivers side. If you find a pair I need the passenger side as I had an argument with the tailgate of a council lorry.
