Title: just a thought...
Post by: Darth Loo-knee on 29 May 2010, 10:39:40
When a person has somethings for sale would it not be better to list it all under one thread?  or else like what is happening now will happen and other peoples for sale posts go off the scale!
Or is that the idea?

Makes sense to me Daz. All seller needs to do is add said item/items to original post then amend as necessary when bits are sold

I was asked to the very same thing a while ago, not by an Admin I might add, which made sense...
But hay hoe

Does make some sense but.... Dont you think that if you were looking for a specific part, it would be easier to view the header to give you a clue?  Otherwise, you would have to wade through a constantly updated thread from each seller to see if they have what you are looking for??

I actually agree with you also Broocie, as when I have had things for sale and then added more to that thread, seems asthough people have not seen some of the items as I have seen wanted adds for the things I have posted...
But for the whole of the first page seems a little extreme to be taken up by nearly two people personally... and before Simon or whoever thinks this is a dig at them it isn't... just something that Markie Mark asked me to do as he was someone who sold items on here too.

I kinda agree with you, but it seems people dont go in to look at contents, and go by the title.

Not sure what the solution is to be honest.....

Is there anyway that wanted & for sale ads threads to work in reverse order when you view them - last reply goes first to the top instead ?.

And if people list their items on a 'notepad', and keep the file on their computer, then can just edit it, then post it with the amendments (cut & paste), and if the last one was to show first  it should look like this = Example below

For sale
x1 silver front drivers door £25
x2 Rear out light clusters off Facelift £40 pair = SOLD
X3 Bulbs 25w 25p each
x4 light Grey headrests £5 each = X3 SOLD

For sale

x1 silver front drivers door £25
x2 Rear out light clusters off Facelift £40 pair
X3 Bulbs 25w 25p each
x4 light Grey headrests £5 each

i dont like having 3 or 4 items near the top, but if i put "breaking" it might not get the "leather interior" or the "spoiler" to a good home. its a tought one

Are you having a dig at TheBoy for starting multiple threads.   ::)

With the benefit of hindsight, TBDLK, or whatever pinkie calls himself today, is correct - there was a moment when 2 people had virtually all the threads in this section  :-[
