Title: Wtd- TC assisstance
Post by: MartinP on 30 July 2010, 23:05:45
I need some service items and would appreciate TC prices.

Y Reg 2.2 Ltr

Cambelt
water pump
Engine oil
oil filter x 2
Sump plug
Cabin filter
Fuel filter

R reg 3.0 Ltr

Cambelt
Water pump
Engine oil
oil filter x 2 (currently converting from paper filter element to cartridge)
Sump plug

I don't mind buying 4 for 3 on the oil as I will be doing a couple of short changes.

Sounds like you need a TC card, join Autobahnstormers for £20 per year.   ::)

On the 3.0l, I think the current concensus is to use a gates/skf based kit, as the GM one is a bit dear now.  Probably same with water pump, as GM got silly with prices.

Probably too far, but I have TC.  I believe the likes of Auto Addict has TC as well, who may be closer.

Cambelt kits and water pumps from buypartsby is the recommended route these days

I have never used buypartsby, but have heard bad reports about them. Can anyone recommend/warn against.  ::)

I used Buypartsbuy for my cambelt and water pump as fitted by Mr DTM. Brilliant service from both BPB and Mr DTM  :y :y :y

Nice to get a recommendation, I heard someone saying their wishbones were useless.

You asked a valid question, I have a new fuel filter to sell, but under the new rules I can't advertise it for sale because I don't know what a fair price would be. Please someone let me have a TC price as a starting point.

Looks like you are better off ringing your local dealer, remember to specify trade club prices of course.

Thanks for the info on the oil. The filters are less than £2 on TC

I'm in no hurry at the moment.
