Guffer - as a temporary fix you can bypass the heater by pulling off both heater pipe connectors and inserting a piece of 15 mm copper pipe.

The car is then quite driveable BUT wear warm clothes as the cold soon numbs your very bones.

The heater has already stopped working very well, I suspect near total blockage.  When the revs go above 3k I can hear it spit out of the matrix.  If I switch the temp to low it stops the leak.  The heater has always been a bit suspect anyways as the previous owner decided to drive short distances with a blown oil cooler, cleaning it out was very difficult indeed  :(
