going to swop my old ford mondeo taxi for an omega diesel automatic, i normaly fit my own meters and get them calibrated, i know you can run a meter off a paulse form the radio on a vectra but can anyone tell me if the same can be done on an omega,

Welcome :D
Similar radio setups between veccy and omega. Omegas have speed sensitive volumes, so should be possible.
Have a word with one of our members 'Taxi Driver' as he is, obviously, a taxi driver. And a damn nice bloke as well :)

I guess you are going to get a 2000 or earlier 2.5Td then (2.2 TD didn't have an auto option). When considering it remember that this BMW engine needs an oil change every 6K miles....
