Title: Whats Up!
Post by: 2001CatOwner on 09 June 2007, 08:38:56
Hey all,  I am from the US  :( and drive a 2001 cady Catera.  I came here to see if anyone can help me with the "correct" install of my aftermarker head unit and removal of BOSE!!!!  I have the head unit in but it doesn't turn off and when i get back into my car after 1/4 hour or so its reset to 87.5.  If someone could guide me through wiring whatever wires to make it not do that it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!  :y

Hi, unfortunately i dont know much about audio and cant answer your query, you'd get a better response if you post the question in the Ice And Electrical section

out of curiosity, why remove the bose system??

would love to see your car photos in the gallery section too :y

A warm welcome to the forum.  :y
Sounds like you are missing a permanent feed from the battery to keep the memory alive in the head unit. This should be there when you switch off the ignition with the key. But as said earlier re-post on theIce And Electrical section.  8-)

i will post as soon as i get a day off of work were i can take some pics.  The reason to remove BOSE is due to a car accident and i had this stereo in it.  I have all alpine deck stuff- Ipod, Sat radio, etc...

Welcome to the site :)

As said, Vx/Opel/Cadillac reverse the perment 12v and switched 12v from normal, hence you need to swap them over, else the memories will get lost...
