Hi All,
Am new to the forum, well been a guest for a while, and am now considering an Omega after many years driving other German motors.....though GM has been in the blood since the age of 3!
I'm currently considering an MV6 or Elite, basically I NEED ALL the toys and struggle to run a car without grunt and just to show I'm a real GM nut, here's what else is sat in the garage.

Just in case some of you aren't familiar with her, she's a 1969 Opel GT, one of 9 that I have sitting around in either bits, resto or on the road. She's the cream of the crop, too much history for this brief hello, but if any of you are at Billing (only 5 weeks to go), come and have a look and a chat, I hope to have at least 1 GT on the club stand, but there could be 3!

Hi & welcome :)
-
Welcome to the Forum :)
-
Thought I'd come back to you all with an update and also to say 'thanks' for the warm welcome.
Well after much searching and accounting for the limited budget I've plumped for a 2001 2.6 CDX Manual in silver, not quite the grunt of the 3litre, but hopefully a bit more economical! I hope to pick her up this weekend and will then slowly begine the process of 'subtle modification'.
I'll post some pics when I have her.
Cheers for now, Mark

I was waiting for some comments on the GT.....
Well if I must tell you about her.....She's refered to as 'Humbug' and was previously owned by the Head of Dealer Opel Team, Tony Fall (ex Rally driver and Owner of the company Safety Devices). He found the car in the back of an Opel Dealership, in 1981 during the San Remo Rally, they had the Ascona 400 at that time, and he bought the car to run during his time in Germany.
On returning to the UK and some years later he formed a company, Opel Classics, made up from Steve Thompson (Big Opel Dealer....did all the Irmscher cars), Tom May (Head of Irmscher UK) with the intension of building 'as new' Opel GTs. This car became the show car, running a higher spec and was on the market in 1991 for £18500!!!!
Anyway time past and despite knowing of her from '91 I came across her in '03 and bought her with the promise that I would NEVER sell her. She now runs a 2.4litre (utilising Lotus Carlton pistons and rods), has an Emerald ECU (fully mapable) and runs at 185bhp or more importantly 210bhp/ton.
She's fully kitted out, leather, LSD, big brakes etc and was entered in the 'Charimans Cup' at Billing in 2005 and will make an appearance in 4 weeks time...........if I get time to polish her.
Sorry if that's bored you all to tears, but GT's are my one big vice in life :)

Thanks for all the nice comments guys regarding the GT, I'm a prolific owner of them, 12 to date. I suppose I should add that I also have one for sale at the moment (£2500), see pics:

As for my long-termer, HUMBUG, as she's affectionately know, well I'm hoping to have her at the Newark Kit Car Show this weekend....weather permitting, if so I'll take some more pics for you to enjoy.
