Hi all,
Just joined, looking for advice.
Had a Carlton estate many years ago...
Now I have an extremely tired, unloved 2.0 CDX saloon - bought as a clocked banger to last six months, three years and 40k miles later it's finally reached the throw it away stage. Though might be worth a little for spares/repair.
Still handles better than most FWD though, and infinitely nicer than the truly horrible Vectra I owned for a while - now there was a car that burnt money!
Need an estate, and more engine... Am tempted by ex police 3.2s, so have joined in the hope of hints and tips :) Also considering 3.2 Elites, but the estates seem fairly thin on the ground, or daft money at the only dealer that seems to have a regular supply.
Owned a TVR for 4 years - hence wanting a bit more than 2l :)

Chimaera 450... rug rat, and change in work put paid to that a couple of years back though. :'(
The drill on taking friend out for first run (in dry), was usually the same.... find some quiet roads, burble along happily 0-20, let it slow a little in first and welly it. Then a few fast corners. Without exception, swear words from passenger seat! ;D
The reputation they had for biting wasn't deserved... in the dry you can throw em around like mad... in the wet, well it's 280 horse thru the back wheels.
Not such a fan of the AJP engined Tivs though - one day when I can afford to run another one it'll be another Chimaera :)
