MV6 with the desired leather reccaro interior and alloys.  Probably HID lights as well since no adjuster to left of headlight switch.  Looks like the better hifi system with carphone option, judging by the size of the volume knob.  Space to the left of the stereo makes me think its the minifacelift but the rear bumper does not look right.  Irmscher addon??.

Good car to break, worth a few quid in bits.... :y

If I get it, I'll be fixing it for myself :)

I didn't think MV6's came with a slushbox tho  :-?

I'd guess its a mini facelift MV6 that's had facelift bumpers put on it, well a facelift rear at least.

Looks like an MV6, has a calibrated speedo by the looks of it too?

Silver is a very hard colour to match - bodywise.

You must have better eyes than me, bud!   :D  

Piccys are not that clear but it looks to me like its just the trip odo in the bottom sector of the speedo.

Doubtfull if its ex-police, given that theres a reccaro leather interior and a sunroof and climate control, but never say never!!   :y

did police ever use handsfree gearboxes?

Yes.  In fact, some Forces only use auto's.

I know that my Force is normally all manual but currently have an auto Volvo and recently sent an auto ML320 to auction.

Agreed,
It's a Mini-Facelift with a Facelift rear bumper, I did it the same to my elite before fitting the full irmscher kit
Also £900 is a bit steep if you ask me.

Aye, hence why I'm only going to offer £400... no more than £550 max.  (will go armed with autotrader printouts n shizzle)

And to think I'll be splitting my current car to afford this one... damn...

My 1998 (r reg) Mv6 with full irmscher bodykit and recaro leather was only £711 on ebay, on the road ::)

Also after a second look of the back bumper it's not a facelift bumper it's an irmscher one same as mine(the silver elite I also have), picture below;

I know where this car is  ;) They always over price their cars so they can take a lower offer. I would wait a couple of weeks cos they WILL drop it anyway....

Right now I think you would be very lucky for them to let you have this car for less than £700
