Hi, I have recently purchased A 1996 2.5 v6 omega and since viewing this website I am to worried to drive it as its mileage is 135000 miles and I have no proof of A cam belt change. Definately at the top of the to-do list! Congratulations on A great site. :y
P.s. How do I get A cambelt dvd?
-
welcome to the forum i dont own a v6 (yet) so cant help but one of the others will more than likely be able to tell you, re cambelt

Hi Luke and welcome to OOF. :)

welcome luke
dont worry about the 135,000 miles if it's been maintained properly, its likely to be able to do the same amount again before it dies!

Hello & Welcome :y

I would also be very carefull and try not to drive it untill the cam belt kit has been changed, 40,000 / 4 years. the problem is the tensioners are the part that fails but you cannot change the belt witout the rollers and viccy verser It is about £80 from vx on trade club card for the kit , please use gen vx parts as if it fails you are covered under parts warrenty.

Hi Luke, welcome to the site :y

Howdoo and welcome to OOF. Best place for Omega info on the web.
As said, 40k miles or 4 years for belt and tensioers. If it goes pop, it will cost...
Check assorted threads for info as to where and how to ensure costs are kept to a minimum.
Pull up a keyboard and feel free to join in the gags and banter in genchat and elsewhere.... :y
