Title: Morning all from a convert!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi just signed up yesterday after buying a V reg CDX estate. I must admit I wasnt a fan but its been a long time since my early carlton days which was a bit of a pup. Ive only had it 2 days and its me allover. I have had an 800 over the last 4 1/2 years now shes getting tired she has to go. I like my big cars always have and the Omega suits me well,wide plenty of room (being 6 foot 1 and the best part of  130 kgs I need it).So any advice or tips for things to look out for.

Hi Andy, welcome to OOF....  The major thing to check/confirm/replace is the timing belt and tensioers.  Its 4 years or 40K miles, no exceptions, and not the 80k as sometimes quoted elsewhere.

There are a number of unique quirks that the cars have, and I think 99.9% of them are covered somewhere or other on the forum.  The Tech help and maint sections are a good place to browse through as are the numerous 'howtoos' that are listed.

When you get a chance, update your profile with the engine size etc as it can and will save someone asking in times to come.

Thanks for that the head was replaced at 139000 its now on 148000 in the reciept a full timing belt kit is listed.I`ll update my profile as you suggest.

I too was a 800 driver, but you just can't get the parts  :'( I've still my Coupe though  :y
