Hi all
Bought a 53 plate 2.2 CDX Estate on Monday - thought it was money well spent as have wanted an Omega for a while - until my mechanic friend got hold of it!
Auto Climate Control not working - re-gassed and oiled - no joy! £400 quid for new pump - still not working! Now he tells me he's got to take most of the car apart to replace some tiny valve hidden away under the dash - hasn't quoted me for that yet as going on holiday tomorrow for 2 weeks without air con!
Also front bushes need replacing, exhaust manifold gasket gone and god knows what else!
Doesn't seem such a good buy now - please will you lot tell me - have I done the right thing?

Hi and welcome to the forum :)
I would ask the person who has done the work to refund for the stuff he has already done after all your paying him to repair your aircon, which he hasn't done yet.

Welcome to the site.
Your mechanic is obviously not that great tbh, or is dabbling in things he doesn't have the equipment for.

Hi and welcome to the forum :y
If i was you i would give him back the new pump and then take the car away. You have got a 53 reg omega and i cant think for one second why you would have so many things wrong with it. How many miles has it done.
Post a question in the chat section about members who know alot about omega's like mark DTM or james V6 and ask if you could meet up with them and let them loose on you car as they will know what they are doing and it will cost you a lot less.
You have bought a very nice car and one of the last so dont go thinking you have done the wrong thing.
We will help you in one way or another so go and have a great holiday :y :y

Hi Bungle and welcome. When I bought my Omega 6 months ago had a couple of problems within first week. Got them fixed under warranty and had trouble free motoring ever since. :y
