Hi all -
I have been a proud Omega owner for the last 4 years - Y Reg - 2.2 CD - beautiful car in every way - but recent intractable sensor problems, very high fuel consumption etc. etc. - have meant it's expensive to run - and it's getting really costly in repairs (I'm not gifted, maintenance wise!).
I HAVE LOVED this car, and I want another Omega if possible.... now, would you believe, I have been offered (by a trusted friend) another absolutely immaculate Y Reg 2.2 - CDX Auto Leather - for £1,500 and I'm tempted to buy it [downside is it has 156K on the clock, but it's had a recent set of tyres, cambelt replacement 2 months ago, also fitted with newish (gas) shockers] It is returning a good 20% better fuel economy than my CD, too.
I'm thinking of scrapping the CD and buying the CDX. Does that seem reasonable - or too big a gamble?? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

Sorry - posted this to the wrong forum - why don't I read the instructions - anyway, I've posted it on the general help section, so please post any replies there - thanks! :D

Hello Vic and a warm welcome to you :y
-
hello and welcome --- if it has to go -- recycle it through OOF :y

Hi & a warm welcome to you :y
The choice is completely yours, only you know how much trouble you've had with the car. If it was me, i'd go for the CDX & offer the parts on here, but you'll need 250 post to do so :'( or you could sell it as complete, but you'll get less. It's a tuff one :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/
What ever you decide, i hope it all goes to plan :y

Hi Vic and welcome to OOF. :)
-
Thanks - glad to find so many other connoisseurs of fine motor cars! :y
-
welcome. If you struggle to find a home talk to me, I'll do something ethical with it (ie fix it!) and offer you more than scrap value :P
-
Thanks for your interest - as a ballpark estimate, subject to seeing it, what would you offer? And could you collect? (I'm in Wolverhampton - going to view the CDX tomorrow morning.... need to take a quickish decision)
Cheers -
VicD :)

Hi Vic
If you could send me a PM with the list of issues and symptoms you've been having that would enable me to answer your question :y
