Title: Hello
Post by: Bob S on 07 September 2008, 12:02:55
Hello to all found the site whilst trying to resolve the dreaded timing belt saga. Have bought the omega 93k miles all current evidence tends to point to belt done or it would have gone by now. Car is beautifull and looking forward to many good miles in her yet.
I have to admit my favourite car of all time is the senator though I'm curious to see how her succesor fairs. :y

welcome to oof Bob.
If you dont have proof of a cambelt/tensioner change at 40k/4 year intervals, then change it immediately.there is a dvd on the subject available from the forum which makes the job very easy.
I agree about the senator btw, superb car apart from the inevitable rust. the omega imo is the next best thing though. :y

Hello and welcoem -- as has been said before --- do the belt -- at least you will then a) Know it's been done and b) know when it will be next due. Otherwise it could go at any time as you have no idea how long the current one has been on there.

Howdoo Bob and welcome to the Omega Owners Forum.  As you can see, lots of good info available for nowt and if you are prepared to get some muck under your fingernails, you will save quite a few quid instead of spending it in garages....   ;)

Agree with the Senator.  Brill cars, but the Omega is a suitable replacement in many ways...  :y
