Title: Hi All
Post by: riz on 03 December 2008, 00:02:20
Hi all, Scotsman living in Northern Ireland here.

Been driving a 1996 Vauxhall Omega for the last 6 months. Been loving the car but the MOT is up now and it won't pass without a bunch of things fixed.

We've now baught a new car but it's 0-60 in about 30 mins. Feels like i'm driving a sardine can. I don't want to part with the Omega. I know sod all about the mechanics of cars so I am going to change that by making my Omega a pet project, gonna fix (hopefully not fux) it up and get it through the MOT on myown if possible so look out for some dumb newbie questions coming your way if I can't get my head around the FAQ's and HowTo's :)

Riz.

Thanks for the welcome everyone  :)

Whaboutcha albitz! It seems everyone in and around the Bangor area seems to know each other. Dundonalds a nice wee drive from bangor but "Ards" confused me for a while at first, people were saying goto ard's for this and that, but could I find ards on the bloody map, nope, eventually someone mentioned Newtonards and it clicked! I love the wee twisty hilly roads in norn irn and the "peelers" I've met so far have been "dead on"!

Riz,if you look in page 2 of the test section at HS there is a photo taken off me in my old chevette on one of those wee roads (Craigantlet) the bloke who took the photo,is a Bangor resident who had a lifelong career as peeler, He is a dead on fella . :) :y
