Title: Newbie
Post by: Cotty on 29 November 2009, 22:06:04
Hi all, thought it best to say hi seeing as I've been a member since January!!!
Absolutely A1 site, the info and how to guides have saved me a fortune this year.
Just scrapped the oil burner (reluctantly :'() and bought 2.5 V6 Reflection, best car I've owned so far. :y
Whilst the 4 pot was off the road I hired a new Astra 1.6 SXI for a month (£430 Ouch  >:() loved it and did'nt want to hand it back, the handling was as close to perfect as you'll get,I was caning Beemers and Audi's along snakes pass  ;D(14 miles of driving heaven) in Derbyshire.
Anyway I took the hire car back and popped in to the car dealers next door to see what could get me by till I fixed the 4 pot!!  I started the sob story about my broken Omega..... Ahh he says just got one in today....5 mins later deposit left, jobs a goodun :)
The fun I'm having on the motorway,it feels good to be keeping up with rich toffs in their Evo's and Quattro's-especially the ooh I dare'nt go over 100mph wimps!!
Look out for my upcoming posts as I'm sure my licence will be going on holiday soon!!
Cheers again for all the great info,I don't bother with the book of 'dangle berries' anymore!!
P.s 130 but traffic ended (MY MATES) top end test, anyone know of a mate who's reached 150?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :) :y
P.S The best time to drive over Snakes Pass (and let rip!!) is during the summer, good dry road and in the early hours of the morning when there's virtually no traffic.Nightime a must cause you can see the lights of oncoming traffic from a good distance!!!
There have been a number of fatalities on that stretch this year mainly youngsters and bikers (usually not the bikers fault) so be careful anyone thinking of driving there!!
Very enchanting road at night with all the cats eyes lighting up in the distance (pure driving heaven). :y
