Hi all,
New member here from Newcastle Upon Tyne, but due to employment, living in Paris.
I've been considering an Omega for some time, but at 21 the fuel and insurance has been too much, until now.
Doing rocketship miles now, 3000+ a month, and my Citroen is not built for it. I need something bigger and better suited for motorway cruising, the Omega, for me, is ideally suited for this.
I'm hoping for some pointers on which model/year combination would be best for me. I'd like a V6 auto, as fuel is on expenses. I have around 800-1000 GBP to spend.
I look forward to becoming an Omega owner!

Hello & Welcome :)
Given those mileages, and the fact you are in France .... consider this option .... V6 petrol and LPG it, unless you can find one already done !!
Running on LPG (GPL in France) saves around 40% against petrol costs .. around 10p a mile saving for me.
GPL is far more readily available in France than UK, LeClercs, Auchan, Geant all seem to sell it, as well as many "normal" garages.
If the system is a multipoint injected one - the only type I would recommend - there is absolutely NO loss of power whatsoever ... the only difference is the decreaed runing cost ! :)

Hi, thanks.
Only problem with LPG is using the Channel Tunnel, I don't think I'm allowed to travel with LPG, not certain though, I'll check, when I'm posting from something more profound than a BlackBerry!

Welcome to the forum and i'll echo what Entwood said i bought the 2.2 for the economy and wish id got a V6 and gassed it. Not much difference between the two when your sat on the motorway cruising 2.2 shte round town on MPG its a big heavy car. Good luck in your ownership :y

You are correct .. LPG powered vehicles not allowed on the Chunnel .. :(
Doesn't bother me as we always use a ferry when we go to France .. but just for holidays once a year .... tad different for you ..

Didn't think so :(
The fuel bills I can live with!
