Hi Guys
I'm interested in Purchasing a 97 Omega 2.5TD Automatic and would love to get some advice from you.
It's done 147k has FSH and is up for just shy of a grand.
What should i be looking out for with the car?
I've currently got a 99 Renault Scenic 1.6 Auto and want something a bit more reliable and economical however money is a bit tight !
Any advice would be appreciated and if i purchase it I'm sure I'll be a regular here.

Hi Gubble, welcome to the forum!
There are plenty of experts on here but not all of them read this newbie welcome section. I'd suggest you post this request in the Omega General Help section as well.
Don't know much about the diesels but general stuff would include
- rust (doors, wheel arches including where the rear doors shut, tailgate if it's an estate)
- vaugueness in the steering
- pulling to one side under braking
- uneven tyre wear especially inside edge of the fronts
Also check that all of the warning lights do come on when you turn on the ignition but none of them stays on after the rest go out.
Plus plenty more suggestions yet to come from others... :y

Welcome to the forum...........

Greeting! :y as with any second hand car, especially with that mileage i'd phone the previous owner and ask why they sold it and ask for history of repairs they had to carry out. also see if you can find out if gearbox oil has been changed.
