Title: Scimitar/Omega
Post by: lozzzzzz on 03 September 2011, 08:39:40
Hello folks, I recently sold a load of omega parts on ebay, only the lights sold, but the chap who came to pick them up suggested I join the forum and say hello.

I'm not sure how welcome I am here as I've taken an x police omega and transplanted the engine, gearbox and LPG system into my Scimitar.

I've got an MV6 shell on the drive that might have some usefull parts on it if anyone is interested.  There isn't much exciting left but I'm lead to believe there is an omega meet soon somewhere near me (I'm in herefordshire) soon so folk might be able to pick over the car.

I'm not allowed to post photo's or link until I've done a couple of posts, so they'll come later :(

I drove the Omega for a couple of months before taking to bits, and thoroughly enjoyed it, its a proper rocket ship in third  ;D  and so smooth at really high speeds.

I've had a little brouse through the forum, there are some lovely motors here, I've even had a cheaky look for engine info a few months back regarding the lightwieght flywheel.

I wouldn't like to mention names but the chap I met has a grey irmscher, hope he reads this and says hello.

Nice to meet you all

Hi guys, and thanks :)

Its been done once before, the chap did it around 2 years ago, his name on the forums is Burtle.  Its a pretty awesome machine, he built it for the PPC999 challenge (build a fast car for less than £1k).  Myself and one other chap on the scimitar forum are now putting one in a scimitar, so there will be three :)

And the Omega as it is now :(

Here's the link the pistonheads thread, I think there are something like 15000 words so it might be worth just a skim through the photos ;D

I think the omega engine starts to feature on page 2 or 3

Hope you like it

Thanks guys, no bad comments at all :)

The omega will be here for a few months yet so if anyone fancies any bits off it they're more than welcome.

If nobodies objecting to the heart transplant that's taken place, I'll start posting project progress on the forum (when I finally get time to get back to it).  I'm sure there will be folk interested in the results of the tuning.

Has anyone had a throttle body enlarged, I'm wondering how much it cost?

Cheers folks
