A quickie probably and excuse my ignorance.
The M reg cdx i have has two nipples. One on each side of the rear of the car. At the corners and they protrude about 1 inch. At a guess i think they may be primative parking sensors - can anyone confirm.
Secondly i have a button in the glove box, at the back with a snowflake and an on off switch that doesnt seem to do much. No manual to check this either.
My 5 year newer MV6 has not got these things for me to cross reference, can anyone assist.
All the best

Not sure about your nipples ;D, but your glove box is cooled if you open the slider with ac on.
Not sure why though. The Omega has one of the smallest gloveboxes I've ever seen.
-
you might be able to cool a can of coke in there if you take everything else out

Not quite sure if this is the same but with mine in the glove box I have a slider thing with a hole in it and on it is a picture of a snowflake this relates to the AC as the glovebox can be used a cooler.
Might be similar with yours does the car have AC.

sounds like it is an air conditioned glovebox as its exactly as you guys have described.
Strangest thing i have ever heard of. Apart from those nipple things......will investigate these further as theres a wad of wires inside the boot. Logic suggests some form of sensors.
cheers

There is room in the aircon glovebox for a couple of emergency Mars bars. They break the boredom of the M40 ;)

These nipples, if you tweak them do they go hard?

You could always reverse towards a wall and see if it beeps! ;)
-
...thats just it ( sorry i should have put this in the original post :-[ ) nothing happens when i revers to a wall - its sitting about a few inches from my garage door and no buzz bleeps bangs at all.
So there nipples that dont work then...
-
My old CDX (carlton) had a couple of nipples at the back, which were connected to adjustable shocks, but these where on the inside.

They're all small nowadays(glove boxes not nipples) because of the passenger airbag. At least you get a small glovebox on an omega. I've just sold a saab 9000--no glovebox, all airbag.

`tis a good point, wifes Safrane 99 plate has no glovebox, but then nothing would surprise me with big renaults!

maybe these things are like tits on a bull, there purely for show and decorative purposes.

Glovebox on my Peugeot 206 is bigger than both the Omega Airbags - inflated. Isn't that right Laidback? - who said he would never drive another omega after sitting in my Peugeot! (because he now has chronic walking problems after a 4 mile journey with his knees in his ears. ;D

Was he giving you a driving lesson Ron? [smiley=lolk.gif]

Hmmm, Peugeot 206, I recommend anyone who is contemplating getting rid of their Omega, has a go in one of these!
It makes you realise what you take for granted... like space, suspension and crash protection! ;)

Trace them back should be a little control box and a buzzer all connected to the reverse wire
-
Have they got wires going to them on the inside?
In the centre of the plastic looks like corroded alloy or summat.
Not like any reversing sensors ive ever seen.....but if Martin says they are the same as his....then they must be.
I woulda guessed they were for an accessory add on.......like a pushbike rack
-
They do look a little like some cheapo stick on reversing sensors that Argos used to sell a few years back - the beeper/led unit was the control unit as well. I guess that bit is missing, but the sensors remain.
-
I rescued them off the mv6
