Will facelift headlights fit a pre facelift car?

Not talking about HIDs just plain ol' crappy halogen units.

I have seen a car around my way with facelift lights on they look ok, but the bottom trim doesn't fit brilliant.

As said, shape is slightly different, so not ideal.
