Title: Where's the coolant level sensor on a '99 2.5 V6?
Post by: Big Rod on 25 July 2006, 13:19:47
That about covers it.

Wifes Elite is complaining of low coolant from time to time, but there's plenty of fluid in there.

I suspect a faulty sensor unless anyone has a different idea.

Its in the header tank.

Remove the securing clip by the drivers side wing and turn it over and you will see the electrical connection....make sure its nice and clean.

My expansion tank is looking a little cruddy inside (despite always being serviced on time according to receipts) - whats best way of cleaning?

Aha!

You might laugh at this, but it works...........(apparently!!)

Use a clothes washing detergeant powder like daz or something, stick some water in with it and shake it. Replace the solution and repeat until what comes out is clean.

Sadly, the only way you'll get a completely clean one is to buy a new one.

DON'T BE TEMPTED TO USE BLEACH OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT AS IT'LL DESTROY THE TANK!!
