Title: Climate sensor cleaning
Post by: P_Russell on 27 July 2006, 14:23:29
I'm suspecting that my climate sensors aren't working properly - auto mode is pretty useless but when in manual all works fine (4 degees C, or 277K for us  :( chemists.....)

3 questions:

1) How do I remove the control panel to get to the sensor in the centre - I can only find a how to for a facelift?

2) Where is the footwell sensor located?

3) Will this stop the wife moaning?

...OK, so I already know the 3rd question is not possible, but I live in hope.........

I was about to say you must have a facelift! ....but then noticed you commented about only being able to find a howto on a facelift......so i assume you have a prefacelift.

I expect TheBoy will be able to advise if you can read climate faults with a tech2...as this might be the way to go before pulling your dash apart.

Something i was going to ask.....and not trying to hijack your thread...and might help your problem...experts will prolly know.....is it possible on facelifts (or prefacelifts) to hit a combination of buttons on the climate for it to flash up error codes.

I can do this on my merc.......just wondered if its maybe the same on vx's??

Cheers

Dave

Tech1/Tech2 so diagnose climate issues - no flash codes.

I'm sure there is a climate panel bulb change guide here or on other site, that should give you all you need. Or a quick phone call you brother ;)

Is the little sampling fan in the climate panel running?
