Does anyone know the ball park figure for a full exhaust system including fitting for a '97 2.5 litre V6? I know I could get one couriered for about £275. The sort of place I am thinking of is a Kwik Fit or similar chain.
-
For the whole thing including cats i would of thought around £200-250?
-
and avaoid kwik fit, sorry if that offends anyone one here but AVOID kwik fit
-
Surely you dont need cats?
-
Yep, I agree with the aviod Kwick Fit statement.
A real buch of yee haas (cowboys) IMO.
I usually go to ATS and have had no probs with them - as I am in the AA even get a discount!
-
Sorry forgot in the last post - if you do need cats firstly ensure that the cause is sorted i.e. misfiring etc before replacing otherwise the new cats will soon go the same way!
Also, I am not sure how correct this statement is, but I would recommend OE cats rather that aftermarket. I am sure that others have an opinion on this!

...a decent system for my 3 litre estate; ie both silencers after the cat's and the back box cost me £316 at Humphries in Bracknell last week. That came with a 3 year guarantee. I had to shop around to find that as there aren't many after market back boxes made apparently....

genuine vx ones are much quieter than the cheapo crap that fast fit use. Mine, not inc cats was £340 fitted by dealer.

Loc: Spain, Needs the cost in Euros €€€€€ ;D

Two centre sections and tail pipe are £210+ vat including bolts etc (approx 300 euros)
Omega exhaust has to be the easiest to fit going.....as long as some idiot hasn't used standard bolts on the centre section to cat joints....

Thanks folks, Might be going back to England for a week soon. First I will try Feu Vert "fast fit" here for a price. I Had a look at the cats on the system. They have been acting as skids and are flattened on the bottom side. Our local tracks are worse than you could ever imagine. No doubt the innards are bashed up and congregated at one end. There have to be some downsides to living here!
I still have the stutter at 2 rpm but before replacing the system, I will have a go at identifying the DIS pack number (one of three apparently) so I can order one from the UK. That would seem to be the likely problem. All very hard when you are working and miles from the nearest Opel dealer oh and it is 40 deg C plus during the day and 26 deg C at night. Your heatwave in the UK is the glow from Spain.
