Title: Compression testing - help please
Post by: The Barge Captain on 13 August 2006, 19:49:46
Silly question I know, but how do i compression test my omega? (yes I do have a tester), only the last car i used it on, i was able to dissconnect the LT from the coil so the darned thing wouldn't start.  What do i need to do on the 2.0 lump? especially as I don't want to pump unburnt fuel into the cat - it's loosing fur as it is!

Remove the fuel pump relay or disconnect the crank sensor......dont forget you need throttle fully open for a compression test.

But, looking at your other post, it will be blocked breathers causing the crank case pressure.

OK thanks. I willl give this a try. Hopefully reducing the pressure will mean that i won't need to replace the gasket.
