Is it cable or hydrolic ?
-
Hydraulic, as far as I can see from a schematic that we don't have....
Never thought about tis! Good question!!
Must use the same master cylinder as the brakes then....
-
What's a clutch! ;)
-
The manuals use a hydraulic wet clutch :)
-
cheers thats what I thought, just threw me a bit when I went to order one from the motor factors and they had the two listed.

When talking about wet or dry clutches this refers to whether the clutch is operating in an oil bath (wet) or not (dry) so the Omega is a dry plate clutch.
All the Omega B clutches are hydraulic operated, I wonder if the Omega A (Carlton) was cable operated and hence the confusion?
-
Carlton was cable. GSi cable was/is, apparently, a dealer only part at £75. I almost choked!! Local factors etc could not obtain one, only for 2 litre, diesel, left hand drive but not RHD GSi for some reason.
Eventually got a genuine Vaux one on E-bay for £15 delivered..... ;)

Just stop to ask the next guy who looks under 60 and doesn't have a tartan blanket on the rear shelf :P Although he'll probably coast past you because his engine is putting the power onto the road, while yours is too busy heating up transmission fluid to waste power on propelling the car forwards ;)
Oh and Omega definitely ain't a wet clutch! If it were, as most bikes are, chances are the oil is shared with the engine, meaning you can't use standard oil as the friction modifiers bugger up the friction that allows the clutch to bite!
-
Oh and it's definitely hydraulic, shares the reservoir with the brakes. Apparently a bitch to bleed after it's been disturbed too :o

Carlton was cable. .......
Some were. Some were hydraulic.
