Could have gone to far and got stuck, you should have a bar in the boot kit which has a square tip.
You can stick it in the back of the motor one closest the gearbox and rotate it, it will very slowly move the seat forward.
Also if you can strip down the button assembley, check the actual switch is making a good connection
-
It may start to work when you wind it forward a bit.
Otherwise, it's a case of checking for voltage on the connectors, and motor terminals.
If was mine, I would suspect 'Werther blockage' in the runner.
-
Cheers Guys, I'II give it a go in the morning and report back :)
-
Mine did this once. Sitting on the seat wiggling whilst massaging the buttons soon sorted it out.

:o And how did you fix the seat?
-
Hope it works or that'll be another on my 'Jobs Pending' list. ;)

I can get a piccy tomorrow, its a thin bar with the jack kit.... it looks like an allen key ish... hard to decribe.
I'll get a piccy for you tommorow... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Thanks Tunnie, I would appreciate that, no rush. I must have one, it can go with the rest of the "must haves" that I never have used. (fuse puller, wheel stud remover, radio removal tool, dust cap tool from a Vectra)
::)
-
Its a small crank handle, about 4" long, though I'm sure Tunnie will have a piccie soon (ie, when the lazy git gets up ;))

What you need is this:
Looking at the seat (ie looking towards the back of the car) insert the sqaure end of the bar into the motor on the right hand side.
Turn it clockwise to bring the seat forward, and anti-clock to push it back. It will move very very slowly, takes about 50 turns to bring it about an inch! But fix on one point of the seat and you will see it slowly moving...

You've been busy...

Unfortunately I dont have one of those winder jobbies can they be bought from vx.
-
I don't suppose it'll shift by using a bit of brute force and having the button pushed to take it forward? There's nothing obstructing it is there?
-
Can you file down a bit of metal so it has the square bit on, and put in electric screwdriver?
-
Would a socket set extension bar possibly fit in the square slot, maybe worth ago. :)
-
its a small square (or is it hex, can't remember) - 3mm maybe...
-
Try jamming a straight screwdriver bit in the slot and use a drill should speed up the winding process it may work. :)

Has AA ever overtaken 3 cars, and ended up doing 90mph in a 60 zone? ;)
Ok did't exactly get there as quick as a V6 would, but it was fairly quick..... :D

I had this problem - discovered 2 x £1 coins had fallen out of a pocket and stuck in the runners preventing the seat from moving. It was awkward getting them out, couldn't see them at first but eventually managed to ping them out with a long screwdriver. Best check carefully before dismantling further. :P
