Title: 22MPG........in a diesel!
Post by: IrmscherKris on 21 September 2006, 18:56:00
ok, the missus has a 2.5 td auto and its averiging 22MPG (mfd is accurate!)
i think the autobox needs fresh oil in as it has started to "slip" and power is almost non-existant!

it also has problems starting when hot-temp switch on pump maybe?

its a bit of a shitter really and is in great need of servicing etc cos i think/know it's been neglected.

so, back to mpg i know MR mac b had very impressive mpg (high 40's i think!)
anybody got any ideas on how to double mine-ie stuff that could be renewed....

any help appreciated as always! ;)

I gotta say that I am very pleased with 32.X on a Heathrow run in my 3.0 Auto with the a/c on and it 27 degrees out.  You know how it goes, never leave on time so a bit of a rush . . . still over 32 mpg!
