Title: heating and ventilation
Post by: johnny.dee on 22 September 2006, 21:07:34
Now the cool evenings are drawing in, I thought I might try correct a little fault with my heating and vent system.
The heating and cooling work fine, the problem is I cant seem to get it directed into the footwells no matter what what I set both dials to.
Haynes seem to say I have to have the centre console apart, (which is the reason I havent bothered before) and it is vacuam controlled. Any ideas lads?

More than likely one of the vacuum pipes in the engine bay

Vac feed pipe to the heater system from the engine bay is ok is it......can you hear a hiss at all when you turn the direction dial.

Got the cam locking kit back by the way...thanks!

checked all the vac pipes and heater pipes when I changed the oil cooler a couple of weeks ago, all ok.

No hiss has been heard.

yes all ok. I am still able to divert the air flow from screen to mid level vents,

Haynes say I have to remove the aircon gas before removing the control panel for a look at the vac pipes there, is this correct?

No its not correct....you can simply pop the panel out .....and then there is a rubber assembly with the vac pipes in it on the back of the direction switch.
