When the car on idle and cold the ps is ok but when the car is warm the ps is non existant. When i rise the revs to around 1200 rpm the ps is fine though. Any ideas
-
I have the exact same problem, however it's not always the case, sometimes does it, sometimes doesnt :-?

When the engine is revved, the PAS pump will pump more fluid under pressure, hence the PAS restores.
This sounds daft but have you checked fluid level and condition?
If you have, and it's fine, it could be your PAS pump getting tired.

ive been told its a dodgy ps pump but im not shore whetther to change it ,it looks like a it of a bstd to do
-
yeh checked the level and even sucked the old stuff out the bottle and replaced.... desperate i know
-
What engine you got, the V6?
It's not difficult, just time consuming and fiddly.
You'll need to get it done though, before it dies completely. A heavy omega with no PAS wouldn't be any fun.

yeh i know that too well when the coil died ............oh............my...........god..........

Its not that bad to change actualy........inlet tducts out, aux belt off, power steering pulley off.....three bolts and out it comes (drain fluid first).
Good second hand ones should be no more than about 20-25 quid (watch the breakers, some want a similar amount to what you can get a recon one for)
