On leaving my 2.5cdx, before locking, I occasionally get 3 or 4 'beeps'. No reference in hand book. Any one know what this is? Many thanks.

Yep! - The Alarm sounder battery is flat & the unit needs replacing. >:(
Under the plastic scuttle trim in front of driver, 15 minute job & mine was £50 which IIRC was trade price. 8-)
Good luck, John

Thank you John, is it something I can ignore for a while as an irritating rattle turns out to be broken front spring! (In KwikFit as we speek, £280 to do both)
-
£280 sounds a hell of a lot! - just for front springs? :o
I put up with the 'bleeps' for a long time, but then after a while I started getting the alarm going off at random, any time of day or night.
Luckily I know a m8 of my son, who works at local Vauxhall main dealer, as soon as I told him about the problems, in fact when he heard it bleep as I locked it, he said it was the alarm sounder, even before he plugged the test ste in - which proved it!
Good luck,
John

HI again John, National Tyres quoted £340 for springs.

Way too much imo if you can do it yourself you can save a fortune, try looking on EBay to find a good replacement pair.
Here is a link for a seller who does springs for a v6

Might be of help to you.

In case you want to replace just the NiCd batteries and not the whole sounder (Vx don't sell the batteries separately as they need to be soldered)

I really need to get mine done too, been doing it for years.
Makes it sound like one of those cheap Moss alarms you used to get years ago. ::)
