for a 3.0 estate,can anyone point me in the direction of a decent price for one please?just looked at online automotive and they do it for £40+vat + del(£60-70 total?) is that about right,or would you rwecomend a vauxhall original part???
help please guys sounds like i got a tractor....

I think you will be disappointed with non genuine parts. They are around £70 each on tradeclub...

No question. Get the genuine Vauxhall kit, it is so much better!
Each centre section is approx £75 inc vat on trade club and back box is around £90 inc vat.
Personally I would change the whole lot as it is likely the others are on the way out too.

Project TB1 - a 2.5 v6 has a brand new pattern part exhaust on and its noisy. Not even a nice noise either.
If you have access to Tradeclub, they are not that much more expensive for genuine parts...

Prices are plus VAT.
You should be able to buy your parts at 'Normal Trade' prices from your dealer, just ask. If you don't get it go elsewhere. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I'll second that i saved nearly £200 thanks to TC for a CAT back zorst for my 2.2.
Please please do not go for patten, i have heard a few and they sound nasty. Got geniune GM on my 2.2 again, the orginal was GM and lasted 6 years & 96k miles... the new one is silent, so so quiet. Performance is up, and the MPG is better! :)

You could try this german outfit selling on ebay Item number: 230028077998 . I need a new back box going to wait till i find someone with a TC card to help me out.

Just replaced my exhaust on a 2.5 saloon. Went for the Vx parts and the car is back to new. I've previously had bad experiences with pattern exhausts and would not recommend it.
One odd thing is that Vx have now superceded their original parts with some new stuff. The best way of describing it is that the original boxes (2 middle and 1 back) looked a bit 'corrugated' The new boxes are smooth more 'tin can' like. In otherwords they look like an aftermarket job but are not because they do have GM stamped on them. (Sorry I can't do piccies......)
The other piece of info I can give is they were made in France. My guess is then they were made by Tennoco/Walker for GM but have no way of knowing. It may be possible that Walker turn our the same stuff at a lower cost than Vx, but I you only get what you pay for....
Final piece of advice: make sure that you soak the 4 bolts holding the mid boxes to the cat pipes over night, preferably twice and treat them gently. they can rust up but doing this meant mine came out easily. Also make sure you gat a handful of spring clips that hold the rubber mounts in place I bent a few getting them off (rusted anyway)

Just repaced my system with VX parts sounds really well, I also noticed the change in design of the centre boxs, the cost differences mentioned in a previous post I think will be due to one pipe being longer to allow it to fit into the single back box. Lastly as was said the bolts on the section that joins onto the cat section are a tw*t may need heat mine were heated to cherry red to get the bu**gers off!

have you thought about looking round for a stainless system.
you can pick up a complete system from the cats back for not a lot more than the price
of a stanard system, or look round for a second hand system.
I picked one up for £120.00, once fitted you can forget it, it will out last the car.
