Post by: Pete Elite on 23 October 2006, 17:09:16

  Hi all,
Can anyone tell me where to find the Engine # on my 96 3L Elite Auto. as the Logbook is away and don't know of anywhere else it would be written down, unless you do :question.

   Thanks,
              Pete :).

Dont suppose you have the security pass for car or original service book? Be on them

As for on the engine no idea I'm afraid but look here >> http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/engine_codes/engine_codes.htm

or search on google and this forum?

Thanks for your reply Andy, alas no original books and the link you gave me to try was for Engine codes(C20XE etc.) & not Engine #.

  Thanks anyway for your help,
             Pete :).

Its on the gearbox flange near the crank sensor.......i.e. passenger side of the engine at the rear, view it from underneath by looking up behind the passenger road wheel

Its on the Security Pass if you have one and may be on one of the VIN plates.
