Post by: mikeh on 06 November 2006, 09:00:54
Hi,
Are the lower suspension arms (front and back) ok to be used for jacking up the omega.
Thanks,
Michael.

No mate , use the chassis points just behind where you would jack up with vehicle jack.
cheers Pete

Thanks for your answers.

Are these chassis points the only places for the axles stands as well ?

Thanks,

Michael.

Best way to jack and support the cars is as follows.

Use the jacking points on the sides of the car.
They are located behind the front wheels and in front of the rear wheels. They are quite obvious.

When you have raised the car sufficiently, you can then slide in the axle stands to rest on the chasis points. behind the jacking points.

When you have got the stand(s) in position and the jack acting as a secondary support just get up and try and rock the car. If you see any movement at all, reposition the stands!

NEVER just rely on the jack, no matter how good it is. If it slips you probably won't live long enough to regret it!
