Title: Aux belt tensioner
Post by: Bo Bo on 07 November 2006, 09:44:43
Just phoned my two local Vx parts places inquiring about an Aux belt tensioner pulley. One says it’s available on its own at £25 & the other says it’s only available with the bracket/mounting at £70-odd.
Confused!  :-?

It is available on its own at 25 quid......the other dealer is a muppet (note on 4 pot units you have to buy the whole thing!)

It wont come good with new grease then as per the DVD

Been thinking about this a lot lately (not something I do about cars normally  ::)).
I did re-grease it when we did the cambelt so perhaps the problem is with the tensioner itself?

Swap the pulley over with another car, I'm sure Tumbuk won't mind ;) - that'll prove it...

Cheers, If I swap the pulley over with Timbuk (think he's heading back this way today) & the problem's still there; I'll get back to you :y
