Has anyone had experience with non genuine front wishbones as I dropped in Vauxhall today to be told 'we don't stock the lower arms, but we can order them in,that'll be £188+vat ' :o :o
Holy crap,I nearly passed out and when I came round I asked him if that was for the pair, 'oh no,thats each sir' :o
So going on the fact of not wanting to part with over £400 I'm looking at cheaper options.
I had a look on the 'Vaux-All' website and they list them for £36+vat each...which is a bit more acceptable!!
I know that they're not OE parts so I was wondering if anyone has used them and if so whats the durability like compared to the OE parts???
And finally, would it be adviseable to have the geometry checked once they've been replaced and if so any recommendations where to take it??
Cheers

Even if they are notquite as durable, at that price you could change them 3 times and still be in profit.
And yes, get a full geometry check afterwards.

The units from Autovaux are identical to the Vauxhall units and are mede by the same company. Bolts are scary prices as well but as far as I am aware they are only available from Vauxhall.

I like your way of thinking!!!! Looks like we're on the same wavelength, coz theres NO way i'm paying that sort of money :y
The car's done 145k and i'd say they look original,so they aint had a bad innings!!
Looks like i'll get them ordered coz I fitted new front mudflaps at the weekend and the tyres have started to eat them when cornering :'(
Just have to see if I can order some enthusiasm as well ;D

Am I likely to need to replace the bolts then?? Or will a good soaking in WD40 do it??

Angle tightened, so must be replaced...

Is this crucial?? So I take it 'F T' with the air gun/ 1/2" drive breaker bar won't suffice???
And I take it all this info is in the Haynes comic that i've yet to buy??
There's always a catch,aint there??......
With regards to silly prices, anyone got an estimate??? Go on,i'm sitting down!! ;D

Any angle tightened bolt (also called a stretch bolt) must always be replaced once undone.
